InterTabac meets The Cigar Academy: New cooperation brings even more expertise to the trade fair
Joint educational offers to start with the next edition
In its more than 40-year history, InterTabac has constantly evolved. It has evolved from a pure product show into a platform that offers visitors and exhibitors constantly growing added value for their companies. Exchange, experience and further training have become increasingly important in the supporting program. Messe Dortmund is therefore all the more pleased to be able to announce a new, valuable cooperation around nine months before the next edition. The focus is on the cigar segment, which has been one of InterTabac’s core competencies from the very beginning. The cooperation with The Cigar Academy is intended to further strengthen the educational factor in this area.
Dortmund, 19.12.2024 – The Cigar Academy was founded in the USA in 2024 and is dedicated to protecting, nurturing and passing on the artisanal heritage and traditional knowledge of tobacco growing and cigar making. It does this through a comprehensive educational program developed and certified with leading cigar manufacturers from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Honduras and Mexico – listed on The Cigar Academy website – and delivered on an advanced learning technology platform, complemented by hybrid and in-person workshops. The offer is not only aimed at companies from the cigar industry, but also explicitly at other companies, aficionados and political decision-makers.
Protecting cultural heritage through education
“For all cigar lovers seeking authentic knowledge about the cultural heritage and artisanal tradition of the cigar world, the Cigar Academy is the ultimate resource,” says Ricardo Carioni, co-founder of the Cigar Academy. His business partner Thomas Gryson adds: “Ultimately, education is our strongest weapon against ever-tightening regulations and helps us to protect and nurture the true cigar culture of our ancestors.”
Together with the InterTabac team, the two well-known experts from the cigar industry will be developing an educational program specifically for InterTabac and InterSupply participants in the coming months. The ink has only just dried on the cooperation agreement, but planning has long since begun.
